This site is intended to serve as a relatively informal guide to getting people
started with computer programming. I enjoy programming and have had a few
people ask me how to get started with it, so I decided to put some information
on the Internet after having several redundant conversations with friends and
acquaintances.
I wanted to have a site I could point people to for more information
after I talked to them a little bit about programming. I will continue to
update this site with more information as time goes on (the current version of
this site is just a rough sketch at the moment).
All opinions expressed on this site are those of the author of this site only.
I do not claim to have any expert knowledge of any of the material presented
on this site. I simply know a little bit about software and want to help
people that know nothing or almost nothing about programming get started with
it. Learning any skill is a very long journey, and the content on this site
is introductory. Much of this site is just one person's opinion of how to
get started with programming and how to continually improve. Advice or
opinions about technologies reflect my own personal preferences for software
tools.
